Summary

Designing a comprehensive value proposition that earns loyalty, built on the Eight Keys to a Winning CVP.

Why Take This Course

A compelling value proposition is much more than “earn points on purchases.” Don’t imitate your competitors — create a comprehensive value proposition that delights customers and earns their loyalty.

Course Preview

When I look at the loyalty market — and I’ve had the opportunity to observe hundreds of programs across many categories and geographies — I see a consistent distribution of what I would call the good, the bad and the ugly of the genre. At one end, roughly a quarter of programs are what I’d call poorly designed — or maybe design wasn’t even a real consideration. Retailers with minimal budgets and scarce resources often choose the out-of-the-box configurations that come with point-of-sale systems and e-commerce solutions. Or they copy another brand’s design and create rules and complexities that mute their potential. These are the programs that offer a simple points-based program featuring a one percent rebate. Maybe they have an enrollment gift and a birthday reward, but not much more. They may be plagued with low quality data capture and unnecessary operational friction. Yes, they could work to some degree, but they won’t significantly help the brand excel in a competitive marketplace.
